Brooks Marks is speaking out following the tragic death of Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Jr.
The 26-year-old son of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Meredith Marks spoke exclusively with PEOPLE at the 37th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday, March 5.
Brooks shared a message of support for Mary, who is not currently filming for RHOSLC season 7 despite production recently picking back up.
“My heart goes out to the Cosby family,” Brooks said.
He went on to call Robert “such an incredible person,” adding that the loss is “a devastating, devastating situation.”
In Case You Missed It: Robert Jr. died in Utah on Feb. 23 at the age of 23.
The Salt Lake City Police Department reportedly responded to a possible overdose after receiving a call about a “full arrest/medical emergency” involving a 23-year-old male.
Mary confirmed the heartbreaking news two days later.
“Our beloved son Robert Jr. has been called home to the Lord,” she said in a statement.
“Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in God’s promise and in knowing he is finally at peace.”
The week of Robert Jr.’s passing also happened to be the same week production was originally scheduled to begin on season 7.
In the wake of the tragedy, production was temporarily paused, with the cast reportedly putting their current issues aside to rally around Mary.
Naturally so.
