Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying and his professional partner Rylee Arnold thanked Stephen Nedoroscik from season 33 of Dancing With the Stars for joining them in rehearsal for episode three.
Friends forever:
Rylee boasted, “Steve is just the best,” about her partner last season, who placed fourth. “He came to the last little bit of our rehearsal a couple of days ago and just hyped us up. Steve is genuinely so awesome.”
The pro-dancer added, “I miss him, and I’m just so grateful to have him back and to have such a good friend in him.” When Rylee sees the Olympian, “It’s just so fun and so exciting.”
Stephen’s advice for Scott:
According to Scott, Stephen reminded him “To have fun.”
“[Stephen] just has such good energy when he was at rehearsal. He was hyping us up. He’s just a ball of sunshine. I think, in a way, he was our good luck charm.”
Well, it worked!
Rylee and Scott performed a jazz routine to Jennie’s “Like Jennie” and earned a combined score of 22 out of 30 from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli.
“You just owned the floor. You were like, ‘This is my ballroom. Back off, I’m taking the space. I own the whole place.’ You are the king of TikTok Night. That was your element. You are in your element,” Carrie Ann said, while Derek quipped, “I have one word. Red. For red hot!”
Afterward, Scott gushed that he and Rylee are “feeling so good” with how the routine went. “I have not stopped smiling.”
“I’m so relieved to have had a great week. I also felt so present out there, and I felt like I was really enjoying myself. I didn’t know if I was ever gonna get to that because I’ve been so nervous.”
Scott is feeling even more confident going into week four. “I feel like we’ve turned a page. Rylee’s amazing and got her flowers. Her choreo ate.”
DWTS airs on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 pm, with new episodes streaming the next day on Hulu.
