Peter Madrigal Believes Lisa Vanderpump Is “Rebranding” TomTom To Pump

SUR manager, Peter Madrigal, believes Lisa Vanderpump is rebranding TomTom to PUMP. The former Vanderpump Rules personality has seen ‘signs’ that the TomTom era is ending.

TomTom Pump:

Peter explained the changes he’s seen post-Scandoval. “With Tom [Sandoval] and [Tom Schwartz] owning 1% of TomTom, I don’t think the TomTom sign is on there anymore. It’s something I noticed.”

Lisa Vanderpump is “rebranding TomTom as Pump,” explained Peter. “When you walk into the building formerly known as TomTom, you walk in and the gate says Pump above.”

When asked how Schwartz & Sandy’s is doing, Peter heard “it’s a ghost town. Not trying to cast any aspersions, but that’s what I’ve heard.”

Fact check:

Your gals here at Taste of Reality ate at TomTom two nights ago, so we’d like to clear up some confusion. The former VPR star noted the TomTom sign is no longer outside. Unless it came down in the last 36 hours, the building still has TomTom emblazoned on it’s exterior.

To Peter’s point, the Pump sign is very visible to a passerby on the street. The TomTom sign, on the other hand, is obstructed with greenery. I joked to Imani (the other half of Taste of Reality) that LVP instructed the groundskeepers to keep the Pump half well-maintained and let the TomTom sign sink into oblivion. It’s obvious the PUMP sign and the PUMP gate are how the owners want to see themselves represented, not with the TomTom name.

For the record, when I was in WeHo about 3 months ago, the exterior was set up exactly as it was this weekend, only the trees in front of the TomTom sign weren’t as overgrown.

Exhibit A:

The following picture was taken from a bar directly across the street from TomTom/PUMP.

Please note we didn’t photograph the TomTom sign, which is to the right of this shot, as the trees covered the TomTom name.

Exhibit B:

If you walk up to the restaurant, you can see the TomTom sign … which is directly above the PUMP gate. It definitely feels like the Tom’s are being pushed out. But, again, the TomTom sign was still up 36 hours ago.

If Peter is right and LVP plans to rebrand TomTom, we are glad we were able to experience the space while we can. The restaurant was a vibe and a half, the drinks were amazing, and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. (Stay tuned for a full restaurant review coming your way!)
