Below Deck MediterraneanĀ star Nathan Gallagher has allegedly absconded from Australia on the day he was due in court to face the domestic violence charges against him.
Nathan was expected in Burwood Local Court on September 1, but the Irish star was a no-show. Reports from News.com.AU stated that “Prosecutors suspect he has now fled the country.”
ICYMI, Nathan Gallagher wasĀ arrested earlier this monthĀ for allegedly assaulting a 29-year-old woman in Sydney on Boxing Day. Police were called to the unit following reports of an alleged assault. There were no reports of serious injuries.
According to the police report, Nathan was taken to Gladesville Police Station and charged with “assault occasioning actual bodily harm, choking without consent, and common assault.”
The Bravo TV personality pleaded not guilty to all three charges and was granted conditional bail by Burwood Local Court on January 15 … until his court hearing scheduled for today.
Reports from theĀ Sydney Morning Herald said, “Despite his non-attendance, police prosecutors asked Judge Janine Lacy to convict Gallagher in his absence.” The motion was granted. Nathan has been convicted in his absence on all three charges.
Judge Lacy also issued a warrant for his arrest. āGiven the serious nature of the offenses, I note on the record that I have been given documentation from the Immigration Compliance Operations Division that he is currently overseas.”
āThe defendant doesnāt have any prior criminal history but the offences are very serious, with significant maximum penalties, and context of DV committed in the home.ā
āI record a conviction and issue a [arrest] warrant,ā the judge concluded.
