The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County star dressed her family as John F. Kennedy, Jackie Kennedy, and their children on the day of the former president’s assassination.
McCall DaPron is facing backlash after sharing her family’s Halloween costumes, which referenced one of the most infamous tragedies in American history.
The content creator, 36, who is set to star in Hulu’s upcoming The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County spinoff, took to Instagram on Thursday to show off her family’s costumes. However, the festive photo quickly sparked controversy.
McCall and her husband, Kirk, dressed as John F. Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy on the day of the former president’s assassination. Their eight-year-old daughter, McCartney, portrayed Caroline Kennedy, while their two-year-old son, Banks, dressed as John F. Kennedy Jr. Their other children, Monroe, 11, and Truman, 4, completed the look as Secret Service agents.
“Happy Halloween 🩷 The Kennedy’s,” McCall captioned the post.
The costume didn’t go over well with everyone. Social media users called out the family for using the Kennedy assassination as Halloween inspiration, with many describing the choice as insensitive.
Less than 24 hours after sharing the photos, McCall disabled the post’s Instagram comments.
This isn’t the first time Jackie Kennedy’s infamous pink suit has sparked a conversation around Halloween costumes and the tragedy.
The recently released trailer promises plenty of drama, including former MomTok member Jen Affleck navigating her new life in Los Angeles following her appearance on Dancing with the Stars.
The new group will also reportedly face major disagreements over their “moral divides,” including Aspyn Ovard‘s throuple.
SLOMW: OC will be available to stream on Hulu on Nov. 12.
