The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Mayci Neeley and Mikayla Matthews were surprised to see how Taylor Frankie Paul came off during season 4 … they think she got off with a good edit!
In an interview on the Comments by Celebs podcast, the besties commented about how the audience saw was a significantly calmer, rational version than the Taylor they saw behind the scenes. Please note this interview was recorded before the DV/child abuse claims between Dakota Mortensen and TFP.
The edit:
Many fans of TSLOMW would agree that Mikayla and Mayci are among the more “trustworthy narrators” on Hulu’s hit show. According to M&M, TFP’s final edit from season 4 is a “one-eighty in the opposite direction of what we had been seeing.”
“We watched it and were like, ‘Uh, that’s not the Taylor we see all the time,'” explained Mayci. “She had a very level-headed edit. I’m not saying she’s not level-headed. I’m just saying that, we see the other side to Taylor off-camera as well.”
According to Mikayla, TFP is no stranger to self-sabotage. “Taylor’s been in this way for a while. She’s been ruining her opportunities for Dakota, for these men, because she’s not healed. I think it showed that side of us wanting to be good friends. Have this opportunity, get your healing, and be happy. And for her, it’s like she’s still stuck in this toxic cycle with Dakota.”
