Lala Kent‘s apology tour to her former fans has officially kicked off. The controversial Vanderpump Rules star took to her podcast, Give Them Lala, to reflect on the season and (hopefully) make amends with the Bravoholics she was unkind to.
Starting off with the sympathy card:
“Filming this season was bittersweet,” began Lala. “Reliving it was, in my opinion, one of the most difficult seasons that I’ve ever had. I will say it’s more difficult than filming the season that my dad passed away.”
“I stopped talking about this season because – I have to be honest – I was seeing things on socials … (starts to cry) that made me extremely angry and it started making me resent an audience that I have loved and adored for many years. It wasn’t about some of you talking about the season – that part I love.”
Next, the mom card:
“It was about the comments that were talking about me as a parent. I don’t show Ocean on the show. I’m very protective of motherhood and Ocean and the bond that we have. She’s a very, very special child and she’s always going to have the most sacred, soft space in my heart because of what we went through when she was seven months old.”
She reminded her audience that she wasn’t able to show Ocean on tv as a result of not having consent from Ocean’s dad, disgraced producer Randall Emmett, not allowing it. “I felt like that was ok because I got to hold this part of my life so close to my heart.”
“Then, I see this season people coming at me as a mother, something they really know nothing. I didn’t feel like that was fair game. Because of these comments, it put me into a really dark space. Not only do I have to be a mother to Ocean, but I’m also creating a safe space in my body for the new baby that I’m creating.”
Lala tells fans to to react to the show:
“Everything on the show is fair game. If I wear something you don’t like, go in on it. If I say something that you don’t like or don’t agree with, go in on it. I feel that me, as a mother, is completely off limits. When I see people talking about something they know nothing about, my blood starts to boil.”
The expectant mother reminded her audience of the unkind things she said and that she was reacting off of emotion. “I see or hear something I don’t like and I go to the jugular because I feel hurt. Now that I’ve had time to process and get my thoughts in order, the comments that I was seeing that were so below the belt and out of pocket and had nothing to do with the season hurt me so much that I had to just fall off the map.”
Fact VS Opinion (Lala’s Version):
“Usually my reality [on the show] and my reality [off the show], they can co-exist. This was my first season in my eight years of doing the show that my reality and my reality could not co-exist. They had to be so separate that if one touched the other, it took me out. So, what I want to do is focus on the facts of things. My feelings are not facts. This show is based on perspective. That’s a fact. The cast (and audience) having an opinion allows us to have a show.”
I want you guys to know that this show is something I am extremely grateful for. It has allowed me to live a life that [I dreamed of living in Utah]. I love making this show. The opportunities that have come along with it, it’s not lost on me that the show got me the opportunities.” She also pointed out that the audience “giving a shit” makes the show thrive.
Lala blabbed about being being able to support her family as a result of VPR and fan support before apologizing for her nasty behavior. “If I at any point in time said something that made you feel like I am not not grateful, I hope you know that was coming from a place of hurt. I think you’ve seen that side of me many times on Vanderpump Rules.”
The expectant mother thanked the audience for giving her a life she’s always dreamed of and she hopes “even though we didn’t see eye to eye this season,” everyone enjoyed season 11 and knows she’s “really grateful for you.”
Consider yourself warned:
Lala declared “On Monday, I’m going to be coming back to social media and I’m very nervous.” The Bravo TV star plans to answer all the questions that have been lingering with fans and clarify any misunderstandings from season 11 of Pump Rules.

My (unsolicited) opinion:
Lala reminding us that she responds emotionally when she’s activated is exactly why the audience has lost interest in her … she hasn’t evolved at all in her near-decade on TV. While the rest of us are growing up and working to be better versions of ourselves, Lala is defending herself relentlessly popping off at others because that’s what she’s always done.
It’s exhausting to witness this cycle continue.
