Former Vanderpump Rules personality, Faith Stowers, spoke in depth about Lala Kent‘s habit of appropriating black culture … even calling her a Karen. During an appearance on The Frequency podcast, Faith detailed ways Lauren from Utah treated black culture like a “costume.”
Faith slammed Lala for her Tupac comment:
“Lala can go on a platform and say, ‘I was channeling the spirit of Tupac. Tupac [Shakur] is my spirit animal and I’m just so gang-gang.'” The host clarified, “She said she felt like Tupac reincarnated. That’s crazy. She didn’t even say she was channeling Tupac. She said she believes she is Tupac reincarnated. You essentially – as a white woman – are a black man? What is she saying?” he asked.
Lala’s Thug Life costume:
Faith continued, “For a white woman who knows nothing about hip hop, knows nothing about the black culture at all, but wears hoop earrings and does all this.” Lala treats “the black lifestyle [and] the black experience is a costume.”
Allegedly, Lala claimed she was “blacker than” Faith. The podcast host/hairstylist recalled a time when the expectant mother requested his services. While on a trip to Las Vegas, Lala wanted the Frequency podcast host to do her hair. Lala “wanted to give me cornrows. She wanted braids all the way down her back.” He recalled Lala’s behavior during the Vegas trip with Faith. “She was trying to downplay your blackness. ‘Damn, Faith. I’m more black than you,'” she allegedly said.
What happens in Vegas:
Faith was dating a NFL football player at the time. He and a friend took Lala and Faith on a double date in Sin City. “Every time there was a black man around, Lala would amp up the blackness.” She described Lala as a “white woman cos playing a black woman. I’ve never seen Lala interested in a white male” … even her baby daddy, Randall Emmett.
A football player that Faith was dating and his friend took Faith and Lala on a double date while they were in Las Vegas (while Lala and Rand were together). “It was two NFL football players. He was black. I was dating his homie. We all had a double date. We went back to her place. They went to the bedroom, got it poppin’ in the bedroom.”
The knife incident between Lala/Tupac and Faith:
Faith spilled the tea of Lala’s NFL hookup to James, which she said was a mistake. She thinks James is the one who blabbed about Lala’s infidelity to Rand … which is why Rand showed up in Vegas knocking on the Lala’s hotel room door. That’s what allegedly activated Lauren from Utah to pull a knife on Faith.
“The reason the knife was pulled on me was because of that [NFL] guy. That wasn’t the first time she hung out with this black football player. They used to be in love – she talked about him in her book. I did tell James [about Lala’s tryst]. I knew James genuinely liked Lala a lot, so I told him not to get too caught up.” The Frequency podcast host pointed out that’s no reason to pull a knife on someone. “Maybe that was Tupac jumping on out of her,” joked Faith. “She knew she was going to get her ass whooped. Girl, sit down.”
Faith made it clear that Lala’s behavior is extra strange because she’s “a Karen.”
