Jax Taylor speaks out on his podcast for the first time following his 30 days stay in treatment.
While The Valley cast are soaking up the sun in Maui on their cast trip, Jax did a solo pod about his experience in treatment.
After listening to the first five minutes of When Reality Hits, it’s clear he’s getting his ducks in a row.

Jax’s Experience in Treatment
We learned that Jax was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, of which he says he knew “something wasn’t right with him” for awhile.
However, the treatment center allowed him to continue living his life while also providing much needed structure.
The VPR alum was allowed access to his phone when he wasn’t in his 7 hours’ worth of therapy each day.
“I woke up every morning, I had 4-5 eggs for breakfast. I had some oatmeal. Took my medication was at the gym by 8 and then I would be back around 9:30/10 for my therapy sessions,” Jax said.
In addition to mandated therapy hours, the bar owner was permitted to leave the facility one hour each day via a chaperone. He used that opportunity to “work out at Crunch.”
He ends the brief segment reaffirming the news of Brittany Cartwright filing for divorce.
“All I want for us is to be amicable co-parents, and even hopefully really, really good friends someday.”
Cruz’s dad agrees divorce is the correct option for the family of three. Noting his top priority is being a good dad to he and Brittany’s three-year-old son.
Because Jax has had 45 years to get to know himself, he’s still managing both his and our expectations.
“Just because I went to the facility for 30 days definitely doesn’t mean I am coming out cured or a changed man by any means.”
Jax mentioned he will talk more about his current diagnosis and treatment when he’s had time to properly address it privately, and after doing more research.
My Thoughts
Personally, this seems very calculated.
The segment was shy of 5 minutes, but it was reminiscent of reading a script. He delivered his monologue with bated breath. Granted, it can’t be easy to be so vulnerable during a public divorce, so grace extended there. I just don’t feel it’s genuine. Something about it still doesn’t sit right. Or perhaps I am jaded.
