Tyra Banks wants to know exactly what was said about her — even in the footage that didn’t make the final cut of the America’s Next Top Model documentary.
According to court docs obtained by TMZ, the supermodel is questioning producers’ claims that the final Netflix doc was simply the product of “ordinary editorial decisions.”
ICYMI: Tyra is suing the producers for defamation and seeking unspecified damages, claiming they used just 16 minutes of her three-hour interview and manipulated the footage to push a false narrative.
One of Tyra’s biggest issues involves former contestant Shandi Sullivan and how the documentary portrayed Tyra’s response to Shandi’s claim that she was sexually assaulted during the show.
In the three-part Netflix doc, Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model, which premiered on February 16, 2026, Tyra declined to discuss the incident in detail.
“It’s a little difficult for me to talk about production because that’s not my territory.”
In her lawsuit, Tyra alleges she had no idea Shandi considered the incident a sexual assault or that the allegation would even be included in the documentary.
Tyra claims the editing made it appear as though she couldn’t remember the story of a woman who said she was assaulted during Cycle 2 of America’s Next Top Model.
Now, in a new filing, Tyra argues she’s entitled to the unedited interview footage.
Not only from her own three-hour sit-down, but also from Jay Manuel, Miss J. Alexander and Nigel Barker, who all worked alongside her on the hit series.
Netflix and the documentary’s producers have denied all allegations of wrongdoing.
