Jesse Palmer made an announcement Bachelor Nation wasn’t ready for … Golden Bachelors and Bachelorettes will join the Bachelor In Paradise cast on the beach this summer.
During the After the Final Rose episode of The Bachelor’s 29th season, Jesse made an announcement that made me wonder … ABC, are you drunk?
What the …
Jesse invited one of Grant Ellis‘s finalists, Zoe McGrady, to the beach with Jonathan Johnson and Hakeem Moulton from Jenn Tran‘s season.
That’s when Jesse announced The Golden Bachelorette’s Leslie Fhima and The Golden Bachelor’s Gary Levingston would be hitting the beach, too.
HUH?!?!
After I scratched the idea of the Goldens getting mixed in the dating pool, because … why would they ever do that to us loyal BiP fans?!? Then I thought, maybe the Goldens are being brought onto the beach as mentors for the young lovers.
My theory was almost immediately squashed when Leslie gushed, “I cannot wait. The beach is my thing, so I’m very excited, and I’m so excited to be with my old friends, make new friends, and maybe find love.”
Jesse’s official announcement:
“So, this is really happening,” teased the franchise’s host.
“For the first time ever, Golden men and women will be hitting the beaches of Paradise alongside all of your Bachelor and Bachelorette favorites of seasons past.”
“So how is this whole thing going to work? You’re going to have to tune in to find out when an all-new Bachelor in Paradise premieres this summer.”
Jesse noted that he and bartender Wells Adams “were hanging out a little while ago” and discussing how “stoked” they were to return to the series.
The online fodder was a mixed bag:
- oh that’s not –
- I hope they separate the younger cast from the older and sort of transition back and forth throughout the episode.
- i love messy, and this seems like it could get messy so i’m excited to see how it plays out and what the “rules” are 🤣
- I have been wanting this since they announced Golden. This will be SO FUN!
- I was really excited when I thought it was two separate seasons. I don’t love that they’re combining them.
- What if the guys are creeeeps to the younger girls
- I don’t want to hear the older ones talk about how attractive the younger ones are. I don’t want to hear gen z referring to the baby boomers as zaddies. And I sure as heck don’t want any of them hooking up. It also just doesn’t make sense – golden is too grown up for bip shenanigans
