Golden Bachelorette contestant, Gil Ramirez, was cast on the show’s freshman season as a suitor for Joan Vassos. Documents allege Gil, a 60-year-old “educator” from Mission Viejo, California, has a past of stalking. Just three months ago, an ex-girlfriend filed a temporary restraining order against him.

A source told People “this filing occurred in the brief period between completion of our thorough background investigation… and the beginning of production.” By clarifying the timeline, production hopes to stay on top of this casting snafu. Gil Ramirez’s crimes:
Documents allege Gil has a past of stalking. An ex-girlfriend filed a temporary restraining order against him just three months ago. According to a court filing dated June 11, a woman who claimed to have been dating Ramirez was granted a temporary restraining order citing “harassment — emotional.” A source close Bachelor Nation says was just days before production began.
The request for a domestic violence restraining order was obtained. “Despite telling [Gil] to not contact me, come to my house, he made repeated unwanted contact with me, family members and friends.” Allegedly, Gil tried to contact her “25 attempts daily via phone, texts, video. Although [he] lives an hour away, Gil showed up at places I frequent to confront me on a daily basis.”
The woman noted at the time that the alleged harassment had been going on for a “two week period thus far.” She requested Ramirez not contact her and stay away from her home, her workplace, her vehicle and her children’s school. A judge granted the temporary restraining order that same day and set a hearing for July 2.

What does this mean for Gil’s future on The Golden Bachelorette?
Gil received a rose at the end of the the premiere, so his is expected to return for episode two.
However, the source spilled, the show has “further edited his already limited screen time.” Additionally, Gil was “minimized in promotional assets moving forward.”
