Real Housewives of Orange County newbie, Noella Bergener, confirmed the rumors that her husband, James Bergener, hid an extraordinary amount of tax debt from his family.
Though Noella’s husband runs a successful law firm named Sweet James in Orange County, he does not pay his taxes.
Radar Online reported they acquired “a federal tax lien filed on June 3, 2021. The lien accuses James of owing taxes for the years 2018 and 2019. The document says he refused to pay $1,878,438 for 2018 and $2,166,680 for 2019.”
That’s not all…
“In a separate tax lien filed on July 7, the State of California says James owes them $1,851,225.04 for 2018 and 2019. The grand total for his tax debt comes to $5,896,343.04.”

The friend of former RHOC star, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, commented on an Instagram post made by @allabouttrh detailing her husband’s financial woes.

In Noella’s statement, she confirmed she was “shocked and disgusted to find out a week before filming” (yes, it gets worse) NOT from James.

“My marriage has been a fight every day since. I am being very open about my journey and looking at every option to settle my husband’s debts. Stay tuned and please keep me in your prayers during this difficult time for me and my young family.”
Noella and James share two children. James also has a child from another relationship.

Noella has yet to appear on Bravo‘s lineup; however, she is already in the company of several other Real Housewives that claimed they were blind to their husband’s financial problems, including Real Housewives of New Jersey‘s Teresa Giudice and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘s Erika Jayne.
As we all remember, Tre went to ‘camp’ for eleven months for mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud and Erika’s husband is currently under investigation. It is unclear if the ‘How Many F*cks‘ singer was involved in Tom Girardi‘s alleged crimes.
Noella is one of three new RHOC stars alongside Jennifer Armstrong MD and Nicole James. According to returning RHOC star Gina Kirshenheiter, the cast began filming last week.
