During Bravo Fan Fest weekend in Charleston, Andy Cohen was asked how many Real Housewives truly left the show on their own terms. His response garnered a response from a former staffer that directly contradicted what he told the live audience.
Andy asked the ladies on the panel, Porsha Williams, Melissa Gorga, Karen Huger, Shannon Beador, Carole Radziwill, and Heather Gay, their thoughts. The Housewives answered, “Four, three, and two,” before Porsha replied, “One, and it’s Kim Fields,” who was on RHOA for one season.
Andy declared, “There have been a few. Caroline Manzo,” offered the Watch What Happens Live host as an example.
Porsha said, “Candiace,” but she didn’t get the answer she expected. Instead, Andy continued, “There have been a few,” glossing over the former RHOP star’s name.
Former RHOP producer Patrick McDonald claimed Andy lied during the panel. The ex staffer, who worked on Candiace’s final two seasons, said Andy “could not be further from the truth.”
According to Patrick, he stayed up talking to Candiace “until 5 o’clock in the morning as she was weighing the pros & cons about whether or not she wanted to return.” He also recalled “chatting with her when she ultimately decided that returning wasn’t worth it to her and her family.”
Patrick said this is “just another example of Andy Cohen rewriting the narrative” as well as “trying to tarnish the reputation of yet another woman of color for not towing the company line.”
