Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Mama Joyce was asked about Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker‘s divorce before her daughter, who is appearing on Broadway’s & Juliet, pulled her away from the paparazzi.
TMZ‘s camera caught the Dorothy Zbornak/Sophia Petrillo-coded moment.
Mother/daughter duo:
Mama Joyce began, “Well, I just feel like as long as Kandi is happy, I’m happy.” Kandi may be small (*ooOHoHH*) but she quickly removed her mom from the situation.
The paparazzi proceeded to ask the former RHOA star how she spent her first Valentine’s Day as a single woman. “I had to work. I had two shows of & Juliet.” Kandi continued, “I took my mom and my cousins all out to dinner. I feel good.”
As far as Kandi’s relationship with Mama Joyce, her mom has been “very nice lately,” which is a relief considering she’s been known to cross boundaries in the past.

On Nov. 14, Burruss was awarded the Wifetime Achievement Award at The Bravos during BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas. Kandi thanked her husband in her acceptance speech.
“To Todd, thank you for surviving the blogs the shade, the rumors, the lies, the truth, the almost fights, the actual fights, the reunions… You earned this award too.”
The following week, Kandi announced the couple’s split. “After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce. This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.”
