On the July 2nd episode of the Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast, Katie Maloney is giving her thoughts on this “weird time.”
In case you missed it, following a series high, Vanderpump Rules producers announced that the iconic franchise would not follow its traditional filming schedule for the first time in the show’s history. Historically, the Survers would begin filming in May and film throughout the summer.
“I’ve not in 12 years had a summer,” the Something About Her owner began.
TMZ first broke the story about Season’s 12 hiatus. Sources claimed that production “wants to let the cast do their own thing for a bit without jumping right back into another summer of filming.” They’re hoping that a prolonged delay might result in “big developments” and “new drama” to capture.
Fans also theorize the delay in cameras going back up is due in part to Ariana Madix hosting the newest season of Love Island USA, which is currently filming in Fiji.
Katie Maloney, and the Vanderpump Rules cast are using this time to focus on their own businesses and endeavors.
“Everyone’s sort of like, ‘you know what? This feels good.’”
Namely Something About Her – Katie and Ariana’s sandwich shop that garnered major traction and momentum following the season 11 storyline.
“It’s really nice to be able to just have so much time to really focus on the shop, especially in the beginning of it all.”
Even though Vanderpump Rules is on pause, filming for its spinoff, The Valley begins this summer.
If you’re reading this and beginning to fear that the end of VPR is here, don’t! Sources maintain that the show is not cancelled.
“I’m not going to be concerned until its time to be concerned, and it doesn’t feel like it’s time.”
I guess we should all take a page out of Katie’s book and pause the freak out…for now.
