Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker to produce a Broadway revival of William Shakespeare’s Othello starring Hollywood hunk Denzel Washington and *scarf-stealing (speaks in Swiftie)* Jake Gyllenhaal.
What we know so far:
Deadline reported, “The first Broadway revival of the Shakespeare tragedy since 1982’s production starring James Earl Jones, Christopher Plummer and Dianne Wiest!” The spring 2025 staging will star Daddy Denzel as Othello, Jake as Iago and Broadway newbie Molly Osborne as Desdemona.
Othello will open at an as-yet-unannounced Shubert theater (spilled by TheaterMania.com) in spring 2025. “Production dates, venue and additional casting will be announced soon. The revival will play a strictly limited 15-week engagement.”

Kandi’s Broadway resume:
The two-time Grammy winner isn’t a stranger to America’s most sacred stages. Kandi made her Broadway debut in 2018 as Matron “Mama” Morton in a limited engagement of Chicago The Musical.
She produced ‘Thoughts of a Colored Man’ in 2021 as well as 2022’s The Piano Lesson alongside Todd. Kandi applied the lessons learned from The Piano Lesson to her work on The Wiz, which she co-produced with Todd, that ran from April 17–August 18, 2024.
