Dorinda Medley is ready to make it nice over on E!’s The Golden Life.
Page Six revealed that the RHONY alum is set to join the reboot just one day after E! fired Jill Zarin for making racist remarks about Bad Bunny’s Halftime show.
A source close to the project shared that Dorinda was always meant to sign on.
However, producers were planning to release the casting announcement closer to the premiere date to “draw out the publicity for the show a little longer.”
With Jill out, the network pivoted and announced Dorinda’s addition sooner than intended.
And for good reason.
Many fans threatened to skip the spinoff due to the more right-leaning viewpoints associated with some of the legacy cast.
Thankfully, Jill was the only one who put her foot in her mouth ahead of the show’s premiere.
ICYMI: On Tuesday it was reported that E!, the network set to air The Golden Life, fired Jill before production even fully began.
The statement read:
“In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, [production company] Blink49 Studios has decided not to move forward with her involvement in ‘The Golden Life.’ We remain committed to delivering the series in line with our company standards and values.”
