Dancing with the Stars Week 4 — Mariah Carey Night — went down like “Honey!”
*SPOILERS AHEAD!!!*
Perhaps one of my favorite theme nights of the season so far, even though the elimination left a majorly bitter taste in my mouth.
At the top of the Week 4 leaderboard was Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas, whose Viennese waltz earned them the first 9 of the competition and a total score of 25/30.
Trailing them by just one point was a three-way tie between Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach, Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson, and Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy — with each couple earning 24/30.
Jenna and Val’s rumba to “My All” was a standout dance and finally landed with the judges. Carrie Ann Inaba especially praised Jenna for taking their previous critiques to heart and dialing back some of the intensity.
Sadly for Bravo fans, Ciara Miller and Brandon Armstrong delivered their best dance to date with a jazz routine to “Emotions,” but it still wasn’t enough to save them from elimination.
Savannah Bananas second baseman Jackson Olson and Jimmy Kimmel’s sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez were also in the bottom three with their respective partners, Emma Slater and Witney Carson.
However, Jackson and Emma’s waltz wasn’t the lowest-scoring dance of the night.
That distinction went to Guillermo and Witney, who earned a 13/30 for their samba to “Obsessed.”
