Jackson Olson is saying sorry to his fellow Season 35 competitor, Guillermo Rodriguez.
The Savannah Bananas second baseman took to Instagram on Oct. 7, hours before Mariah Carey Night, to apologize for a comment he left on TikTok poking fun at Guillermo’s dancing.
“To G and to all of you, from the bottom of my heart I am so sorry about my comment I made the other day and that it caused this much negativity,” Jackson captioned a video of himself dancing alongside Guillermo.
“I love this guy now let’s do what this show is meant to be about.. DANCE.”
ICYMI: Jackson faced major backlash after throwing shade at Guillermo and Witney Carson’s Paso Doble from Yacht Rock Night.
One of Jackson’s fellow Savannah Bananas teammates recreated the routine and tagged Jackson to judge his dancing.
Jackson commented, and later deleted, “seriously how did you do this better than [Guillermo] with 2 hours of rehearsal.”
Clearly, the apology didn’t hurt Jackson with the Dancing with the Stars audience, as he and partner Emma Slater narrowly escaped elimination on Mariah Carey Night.
The couple will return to the ballroom next week for Super Bowl Night on Oct. 13.
Dancing with the Stars airs live Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+.
