The magic of Dancing With the Stars Disney Night has returned, but with a musical twist!
This week, the eight remaining couples brought the magic of Disney on Broadway to the ballroom, dancing to iconic songs from productions like Hamilton, Tangled, Aida, and more.
The show also aired on a new night, Monday, in observance of Tuesday’s Election Day.
And between two perfect individual scores, a team dance showdown, and another elimination, there was plenty to unpack!
Oh yeah, CYNTHIA ERIVO was a guest judge for Disney on Broadway night.
Team Slaytopia vs. Team Wildcats
After all eight couples completed their individual routines, the stars and their partners split into two teams, with hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough joining in on the fun.
Team Slaytopia consisted of captain Tatyana Ali, Maura Higgins, Amber Glenn, and Julia Stiles.
Alfonso joined the group during a segment of their routine as they shimmied to “Zoo” from Zootopia 2.
The group earned 36 points from the judges, adding 9 points to each celebrity’s final score.
Meanwhile, Team Wildcats brought East High to the ballroom!
Team captain Connor Wood selected Ezra Frech, Harry Shum Jr., and Jenna Dewan, with Julianne rounding out the pep rally.
Their routine to “We’re All in This Together” from High School Musical earned a perfect score, adding 10 points to each celebrity’s final score.
And those extra points certainly made a difference on the leaderboard!
Two Perfect Scores and an Elimination
For the second week in a row, Harry Shum Jr. and his partner Jenna Johnson earned a perfect score!
Their jazz routine to “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from Mary Poppins was, well, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
The Johnson-Chmerkovskiys were certainly on a roll because Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy also earned a perfect score for their quickstep to “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast.
The judges praised the duo for utilizing the entire ballroom floor as Belle and the Beast brought the Disney classic to life.
It was also Jenna and Val’s first perfect score of the season!
However, not everyone got their happily ever after.
Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa were eliminated at the end of the night.
Their paso doble to “Satisfied” from Hamilton earned them a 33/40, leaving the judges satisfied, but America? Not so much.
Julia and Tatyana tied with 69 points at the bottom of the leaderboard, while Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas finished just a point below with 68 points.
All three couples were members of the losing team, proving just how much those extra group dance points mattered.
