Christy Carlson Romano was almost part of the Bravoverse!
The popular Disney Channel actress revealed on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast that her name was once pitched for a potential Real Housewives of Austin spinoff.
“I was in the cast that was being pitched for The Real Housewives of Austin,” Christy shared on the Oct. 6 episode.
Loreal Sarkisian, aka the “First Lady of Texas Football” and wife of University of Texas head football coach Steve Sarkisian, Poppi co-founder Allison Ellsworth, and LadyGang’s Becca Tobin were among the “really great girls” whose names were floated alongside Christy’s.
“We were really cooking for a minute, and then it just kind of derailed,” she continued.
Though the franchise never came to be, the Kim Possible actress teased that she “probably would have been at odds” with Becca if cameras had started rolling.
“I actually do like her quite a lot in retrospect,” Christy admitted, referencing their less-than-great first impression of one another at an Austin charity event.
However, she said the two have had “really great interactions” since then and admitted she would have had no problem “playing into it” for the cameras.
ICYMI: The Real Housewives of Austin never came to be — at least not yet — but Bravo has announced another upcoming Texas-based series.
Working title Secrets, Lies & Texas Wives follows a tight-knit circle of glamorous women balancing family, faith, ranch and farm life, and busy social calendars against a backdrop of rodeos and tradition.
