Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s Angie Katsanevas is setting the record straight about her relationship status after separating from her husband of 27 years, Shawn Trujillo.
News of Angie and Shawn’s separation broke in July. The longtime spouses tied the knot in 1999 and share a 15-year-old daughter, Elektra.
Angie shut down speculation that she has moved on romantically during Watch What Happens Live. When host Andy Cohen asked whether she had started dating anyone new, Angie didn’t hesitate to deny the rumors.
“Absolutely not,” she insisted. “I have not been out with anyone or kissed anyone.”
During her WWHL appearance, Angie explained that there wasn’t one specific event that led to the breakdown of their marriage. Instead, she suggested that spending nearly three decades together had gradually changed their relationship.
“I think it’s just 30 years, people change,” she explained. Angie admitted that she and Shawn had reached a point where they were questioning whether feeling disconnected was simply part of being together for so long.
The Bravolebrity recalled that they had essentially become parents rather than romantic partners, revealing they weren’t going on dates or showing each other the same affection they once did.
Despite their separation, Angie said she and Shawn are prioritizing their daughter. “Coparenting is going amazing,” she shared. Shawn and Angie even dressed up together for Halloween and they recently took a trip as a family. Angie also revealed they still have dinner together, acknowledging that it’s hard to break a routine built over 30 years.
She admitted that she had spent a long time keeping her struggles private while showing up for everyone else. This summer, however, she made a conscious effort to focus on herself and Elektra, spending nearly every waking moment with her daughter.
