Christina Haack Hall, Tarek El Moussa, and Heather Rae Young will film The Flip Off without Joshua Hall. An insider close to HGTVย told US Weekly that Christina and Joshua’s divorce isn’t going to stand in her way of her new show, that stars her ex … and his new wife.
Intention VS Reality:
The premise of The Flip Off doesn’t hit nearly as hard with the casting change.
Initially, the premise was to have a former couple, Christina and Tarek, partner with their new spouses, Joshua and Heather, to see which couple could flip a home for the most financial gain, hence, The Flip Off. We love a double entendre!
โThey are in production of The Flip Off without Josh. Theyโre moving forward with the show without him.โ With only Christina, Tarek, and Heather, perhaps they should rebrand to ‘Three’s A Crowd.’
Christina and Josh’s split:
The insider claims Christina and Joshua โhave had issues for a while.” The Christina on the Coast starย filed for a dissolution of marriage on Monday, July 15 citing “irreconcilable differences.”
After a race to divorce court, Christina submitted her separation paperwork on July 7th. Joshua filed to divorce Christina, but he listed their separation date as July 8th.
What Josh wants:
Paperwork indicates Joshua asked the court for “all rights to his property before he and Christina tied the knot in 2022.” Additionally, he also seeks “equal division of community property acquired during the marriage. This includes the coupleโs Newport Beach, California, house.” Joshua would get a “piece of the Discovery and HGTV shows they developed, produced or contracted with during the marriage.”
Christina’s filing:
The Flip Or Flop alum will provide the court with “a list of separate property assets and debts at a later date.” Christina also requested her last name be restored to Haack.
Even though Josh made quick appearances on her shows over the years, Joshua would have a bigger role to play with the original premise of The Flip Off. A married couple facing off against a woman mid-divorce doesn’t have the same impact as two couples (with an each in each competing pair) facing off.
