Charli Burnett is spilling some behind-the-scenes Vanderpump Rules tea!
Despite being introduced as a SURver during season 8, Charli recently admitted she never actually worked at SUR.
Instead, her role on the show came through her talent agency, which pitched the opportunity as a series following the lives of “young actors in LA.”
“I had no idea what Vanderpump Rules really was or really grasped what I was getting myself into,” Charli said, noting she even had to interview for the gig — including a meeting with Lisa Vanderpump herself.
Charli stuck around until season 11, but ultimately walked away before filming began.
She explained on The Viall Files podcast that something didn’t feel right at the last minute — even though contracts were in motion and cameras were ready to roll.
“I just couldn’t do it,” she shared. “They got the contracts. We were talking for months… and then the day came to sign on the dotted line… I just, something told me not to do it.”
The fact that she wouldn’t have to film with Tom Sandoval or spotlight her new engagement made the decision easier.
“I’d rather just go hang out with Katie [Maloney], grab some cocktails, and chill,” Charli added. “But I also don’t need to be on Vanderpump to do that.”
