Chanel Representative Responds To Bethenny Frankel’s Meltdown After Being Denied Entrance

A representative from the luxury brand, Chanel, responded to Bethenny Frankel‘s chaotic video series about getting denied entrance (for not having an appointment.)

Chanel enters the chat:

Laura M. Morris from Chanel took to social media to explain what caused the former Real Housewives of New York star to go on a rampage. “There was a private sale for VIP clients and it was by appointment only at heavily traffic boutiques that day.” She explained, “Preview days for VIP clients” are “almost always by appointment only.”

“The fashion advisors have a lot of regular clients, so they can’t always take walk-ins if there is some special event at the boutique. If you were a good client and call your fashion advisor or a manager, they will get you an appointment. Even last minute, they would accommodate you. It had nothing to do with the way she looked, nobody was available to assist her.”

Donning a pale pink sweatshirt, the former Bravo TV personality posted a manic video from outside of a Chanel store in Chicago after being turned away for not having an appointment … like an “interloper.” She paired her video with the caption, “Crime is at an all time high and security is critical. I could easily call one of my salespeople and get on this list. That’s besides the point. I was straight of a plane in a sweaty t-shirt and not dolled up or looking wealthy.”

“There are several ways to convey a message and this way was rudeness and elitist and exclusionary, which is also a crime. In business, first impressions are lasting. I would never want anyone to feel lesser than, particularly from a luxury brand making billions off of people buying into the hype. Chanel is a beautiful brand with timeless classic pieces. Being kind to customers of all socioeconomic backgrounds is also timeless and classic.”
