Candiace Dillard Bassett made it clear she and her husband, Chris Bassett, have not had an easy run on Real Housewives of Potomac.
The struggle is real:
“You can’t be happily married in this world. I think that’s the rule,” the controversial RHOP star dished in an interview with Page Six.
“If you’re happily married, they’re going to come for you. They’re going to be ready to attack and you just have to be ready with your marital armor, which we are.”
Gizelle Bryant‘s meddling:
Regarding Chris’s mental state, the Drive Back songstress confirmed her husband is “not well” and hasn’t been for quite a while.”
“It was a mind eff for him to have this picture painted of him because that’s what Gizelle did.”
Candiace continued, Gizelle “painted a picture of him that didn’t belong to him. She created a narrative that was completely false and damaging and hurtful.”
Making it clear that the repercussions of Gizelle’s rumor are long-lasting, Candiace explained, “There are headlines that will live on the internet that insinuate that my husband is a predator, and you can’t undo that.”
“That’s why it’s so damaging for people to be able to make things up.”
The crooner concluded, “It’s hurtful, and he was very hurt by it.”
