Real Housewives of Potomac alum Candiace Dillard Bassett declared Housewives are needed for the continued success of The Traitors US.
Candiace was interviewed on Sherri about the discourse that there should be a Housewives ban on The Traitors moving forward.
Not today neck; Not today ankles:
“We are icons. We are part of the zeitgeist of pop culture,” began Candiace.
“The season would not have been in the stratosphere of viewership without our foolishness.”
“We do a job. We come in, and we do what we’re supposed to do. [Housewives] know what we are doing, and we go home.”
The case against Real Housewives on The Traitors:
Critics argue that Housewives often play emotionally, targeting players based on personal grudges rather than logical, game-based evidence.
Also, there’s the ‘Housewives Alliance.’ The tendency to form loyal, pre-existing blocks makes the game predictable and frustrating for viewers who want to see a “gamer” focus.
Others feel the Housewives are more concerned with their screen time and curated personas than playing the game.
Now for the pro-Housewives side:
Housewives are self-starters when it comes to conflict, ensuring the show remains entertaining, dramatic, and filled with TV gold.
Let’s be honest.
Bravoholics show up for the Housewives. They bring a large, dedicated, and highly active fan base that drives conversation, social media content, and ratings.
Instead of a full-scale ban, it’s been suggested to limit the cast to 1–2 housewives to avoid oversaturating the game with “Bravo” dynamics.
Others suggest a Housewives Only season. This would allow them to be their authentic “iconic” selves without having to tone it down around “gamers.”
