Aneha Singh is adding more context to comments about her family’s marriage preferences for her.
During Season 11 of Love Is Blind, viewers saw Aneha open up about her Hindu background and her anxieties surrounding how her family would react to the experiment.
And despite her fiancé Cam’s attempts to ease her concerns about him not being Hindu, along with his willingness to learn more about her faith and culture, Aneha still struggled with bringing the two worlds together.
Now, she’s clarifying that Cam’s race and religion were never actually the issue.
“My family and I have always been incredibly accepting of people from all walks of life, regardless of their race, religion, or cultural background,” the engineer wrote via Instagram Stories.
“Cam being white or not being Hindu was never an issue for me or my family.”
Instead, Aneha explained that much of her anxiety stemmed from the fact that her family had never met any of her previous partners.
Cam, however, made a major difference throughout the process.
“One of the things I value so much about Cam is how open and receptive he was to learning about my culture from the beginning. I cherish that.”
“Those conversations were never about exclusion,” Aneha added. “They came from a place of love, respect, and wanting to bring two worlds together.”
So, while the show may have made Aneha’s concerns about marrying outside of her faith feel like a potential dealbreaker, she’s making it clear there was more nuance behind those conversations.
The next drop of Love Is Blind episodes will bring us to the weddings, where viewers will finally find out which couples say “I do” and which ones walk away at the altar.
