Ashley Darby commented on Karen Huger ‘s arrest and DUI charges.
The Real Housewives of Potomac star was a guest on the Celebrity Dish show. The mom of two boys was asked how The Grande Dame is holding up after wrecking her Maserati.
Ashley discusses Karen’s DUI:
“I texted her and called her because the reunion was a very tough reunion for me. Karen called me as soon as I got home to check on me. So, I felt this responsibility to extend the same courtesy to her after this traumatic experience for her. It took her a while to get back to me, but she did. She just said she’s doing ok, but from what I understand she’s pretty shaken up with everything.”
The Bravo TV explained she’s emotional “because I really love her. Even though we have our disagreements, and our relationship has gone through a lot, you never want to see anyone go through this.” Ashley acknowleged Karen’s life could’ve been jeopardized [due to her DUI] or someone on the street could’ve been hurt, there’s just so much that could’ve happened. Thankfully it didn’t. But, the what-ifs are really scary.”
Ashley continued on about Karen’s DUI, “We try to be there as much as we can for” her. The RHOP star concluded, Karen keeps things “very close to the chest. So, as much as she’s willing to share, we are willing to listen. We always tell her, ‘we are here for you.’ She knows she’s at least two sets of ears always here to listen to her.”

TMZ reported, Karen “was driving her 2017 Maserati late Tuesday night in Potomac in what police described as an ‘aggressive manner.’”
Cops told the news outlet the Real Housewife “struck a median and crosswalk sign at an intersection before continuing on and colliding with a parking sign off the roadway. She chalked [it] up to driving while in a super emotional state.” Karen explained she “went to dinner with a friend where she said the two talked about some pretty emotional topics — including KH’s deceased mother — saying it left her bawling while trying to drive home and she says she swerved to avoid a car coming directly at her.”
