The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Mayci Neeley’s 7-month-old baby girl, Charli, was recently admitted to the hospital for breathing issues.
Baby Charli’s health scare:
“Wanted to give an update for awareness [because] trusting my instincts was absolutely crucial,” Neeley, 31, began in a series of Instagram Stories.
Mayci, who shares three kids with husband Jacob Neeley, said she began to have an “anxious, sick feeling” about her youngest daughter during a work meeting earlier this week.
“Our nanny was holding her and I could tell just by touching her that her temp was high.” Charli had a 102-degree fever.
Mayci also noticed that Charli’s stomach was contracting in an unusual way. She and Jacob took Charli to the hospital, where doctors determined that her lungs sounded “wheezy.” They also found that the lil cutie had a double ear infection.
Charli was ultimately taken to the ER, where she received steroids and antibiotics. She was admitted to the hospital overnight as doctors continued to monitor her oxygen levels.
“The anxiety & stress and sadness I felt was unreal,” Mayci wrote. “But ultimately, I felt so grateful I trusted my instincts! The doctor kept telling me ‘You did the right thing by coming in,’ which reassured me.”
Doctors later discharged Charli from the hospital. They recommended that she use oxygen while resting, going forward. “We are home. Charli girl finally smiled for the first time in a few days, which makes me feel like she’s finally feeling better.”
Maci’s mom tip:
TSLOMW star urged fellow parents to trust their instincts.
“I honestly didn’t really realize how bad she was struggling until the hospital, so I’m so so so grateful we took her in.”
“I was also supposed to be in New York for work yesterday, and canceled that trip a few days ago. Call it divine intervention or coincidence, but I do think everything happens for a reason.”
