Mayci Neeley is opening up about her past trauma.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star took to TikTok to address how she’s been coping as conversations surrounding assault have become a major topic.
One of season 3’s storylines centers on Demi Engemann continuing to allege that Vanderpump Villa’s Marciano Brunette inappropriately touched her.
Watching the situation play out on the show triggered Mayci’s own experiences.
“With everything with the show coming out, it’s been talked about a lot. I do feel the need to speak on it,” she said on December 30.
During the reunion, Demi attempted to compare her situation with Marciano to that of costars who have experienced similar dynamics.
Mayci Speaks Out
“First and foremost, when you are a victim, even I know to never compare my situation to another victim, because they’re not the same,” Mayci said.
“I think one of the things I want to speak on, too, is about how women go back to their abusers. I can give my experience.”
The MomTok star detailed experiencing psychological, mental, emotional, and physical abuse during her college years.
She also noted that her story wasn’t fully told on Mormon Wives, which ultimately led her to share it in her own words through her memoir, Told You So.
“This whole thing has been very triggering,” she said.
“Filming through it while pregnant, and then doing a reunion postpartum, it hasn’t been super fun — especially because I actually haven’t been able to share my story of [domestic violence] or [sexual assault] on the show.”
Mayci also responded to criticism labeling her a “pot stirrer” or “fence rider.”
She explained that her laid back demeanor stems from having survived truly traumatic experiences.
“I just feel like I’ve been through some real s***, and when you go through stuff like that, the he said, she said fights and drama don’t really matter a ton to me. The only times I feel like I do speak up and I’m a little more aggressive is when toxic men are involved,” Mayci said.
There has to be a voice of reason on shows like this — someone who can help mediate — and it’s hard to think of a better person than Mayci.
