Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Mayci Neeley is sharing her story of loss, love, and resilience.
In her debut memoir Told You So, Mayci opens up about the devastating death of her ex-boyfriend — and father of her son — Arik Mack.
At just 19, Mayci was 14 weeks pregnant when Arik was killed in a car accident in March 2015.
Moments before the crash, Arik was texting Mayci to apologize for cheating.
“The day my boyfriend dies, he texts me to say he’s sorry. He loves me. He’ll never forgive himself for hurting me while I’m pregnant with his baby,” she detailed in her memoir.
“Arik’s text ends with a typo. A singular letter J.”
Mayci didn’t learn of his passing until hours later — through an Instagram post.
According to Utah’s KSL News, Arik’s Honda Element “crossed the center divider,” colliding head-on with a semi.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A decade later, the MomToker says the grief never fully fades. Especially every March as it’s the month he was killed.
“There just feels like there’s an extra bit of heaviness and gloom in my life.”
Her son Hudson, now 9, remains her greatest motivation.
“He’s my saving grace — I don’t think I’d be here without him,” she told E! News.
Mayci’s strength is unreal. To survive that kind of heartbreak — and turn it into healing — is something else.
