Thomas Ravenel caught wind of Jason Isaacs using his Southern Charm “persona” for inspiration on the White Lotus.
Jason Isaacs brought to life Timothy Ratliff — a well to do businessman from North Carolina.
Both Jason and his TV son Sam Nivola were told by the Show’s creator to binge Southern Charm to draw(l) inspiration for the Ratliffs.
A few Southern Charm cast members, namely Cameron Eubanks, posted their thoughts surrounding the Bravo show’s connection to the third season.
“Many of yall are echoing what I thought as soon as I heard the dad speak. ‘Damn, he sounds like Thomas Ravenel,” the Southern Charm alum posted to her stories.
“That dialect is NOT North Carolina. It’s old Charleston.”
Ravenel or Ratliff?
On March 3, the Charleston local tweeted:
“I’m confused. Some actor told a reporter he impersonated my voice with the exception of 2 vowels. Then he told another reporter he borrowed the accent from a politician in North Carolina. I’m scratching my head over this.”
The former reality star also replied to a few tweets from fans.
“Probably has a fear of looking too much like a conservative. Maybe he read some of your posts and thought he would be cancelled,” an X user said.
Thomas retorts: “He’s just playing a role in a tv show. Can’t be held responsible for portraying someone who’s clearly not. him. He’s British pulling off a southern accent. Anyway, just curious”
Thomas also alluded to the network portraying him a certain way on the show. You know, the old “bad edit” excuse.
Thomas Ravenel…Timothy Ratliff…me thinks the writing is on the wall!
