Teddi Mellencamp received a scary diagnosis amid her ongoing skin cancer battle.
The RHOBH alum revealed on Two T’s in a Pod that she was recently diagnosed with Stevens-Johnson syndrome — a rare disorder affecting the skin and mucous membranes — which resulted in a hospital stay.
“I hadn’t felt good for a couple days,” Teddi told Tamra Judge on the March 3 episode.
“I thought I had the flu, and then I woke up one day and my whole body was covered in this terrible rash. You can’t even say it’s a rash because they’re almost like sores…all over my entire body.”
Teddi said she initially went to urgent care because the sores were painful and burning.
However, doctors quickly told her she needed to go to the ER immediately.
Teddi’s Diagnosis
“Essentially what happened was I was given a new medication and I was allergic to it,” she explained.
In her case, the reaction triggered Stevens-Johnson syndrome, which is considered a rare, life-threatening medical emergency that can cause severe and painful blistering.
Unfortunately, the blisters began to spread.
“It went into my mouth,” Teddi recalled.
“Around my eyes a little bit. I couldn’t swallow.”
Even though doctors caught the diagnosis quickly, Teddi still had to be admitted to the hospital.
“They immediately started me on steroids and antibiotics, and after a couple days it thankfully got better,” she shared.
“The reason they were like, ‘You need to stay in,’ is that it can start to get better and then shift right back up.”
As of October 2025, Teddi revealed there is no detectable cancer present, but she’s not completely out of the woods yet — as this recent hospitalization shows.
Teddi has proven to be a fighter, and we’re continuing to keep her in our thoughts!
