Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp discussed her battle with melanoma on World Cancer Day.
Teddi took to Instagram and the HIM & HER podcast to spread awareness about her cancer journey.

“It’s #WorldCancerDay,” began the Two T’s In a Pod co-host. “So I’d like to remind you to get your skin checks scheduled.”

Ted(di) Talk:
“I guess it was three years ago,” explained the former RHOBH personality of realizing something was wrong. “I was on a run with Kyle and our friend Jen. And they were like, ‘Teddi, the thing on your back …’”
She continued, “I didn’t know that skin cancer was a big deal. Like I was like, one, it’s not skin cancer. It’s like moles.”
“So I went in and immediately, she’s like, well, one, you’re going to need to go to an oncologist, but like I’m going to cut this one out and we’re going to start this process.”
“Then pretty much throughout the next three years, I think I’ve had over 20 surgeries. In my last surgery, I had over 800 stitches.”
Good news for Teddi!
In mid-December, Teddi shared outstanding news with her fans and followers. “Going in for my continual 3-month skin checks is never easy,” began the mother of three. “The anxiety always takes over; the thought of another biopsy, another surgery, another addition to the scar on my back.”
“I always end up crying. But, today, the tears were those of joy. Because for the first time, there wasn’t anything abnormal, nothing that needed an extra look. And I am grateful.”
