Country singer Jelly Roll [Jason Deford] – who is one of the three judges on the Star Search reboot – had no comment when asked about ICE in a post-Grammys 2026 interview Sunday.
Ignorance is bliss:
Jelly Roll thinks that “people shouldn’t care to hear [his] opinion” about “what’s going on in the country right now.”
The songwriter admitted to being “disconnected” from politics and pointed out that he “didn’t have a phone for 18 months.”
After winning three Grammy Awards, the 41-year-old said, “I’m a dumb redneck.” In reference to the Nazi-inspired kidnappings and murders of human beings. “Like, I haven’t watched enough.”
“I grew up in a house of insane pandemonium,” continued Jelly Roll. “I didn’t even know politics were f*cking real until I was in my mid-20s in jail. That’s how disconnected [you are] when you grew up in a drug addict household.”
“You think we, like, had common calls about what’s happening in rural politics? We’re just trying to find a way to survive, man.”
Although Jelly Roll pleaded ignorance on Grammy night, he vowed to “have a lot to say about” Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He encouraged fans to check his social media in the coming days because he “love[s] talking about this stuff.”
