Former Dancing With the Stars pro Sasha Farber revealed it wasn’t his choice to leave ABC’s Emmy-nominated competition show.
After ABC dropped the official season 35 cast of stars and pros, fans noticed Sasha’s name was missing from the pairing list. In a now-deleted TikTok comment, Sasha responded to a fan who inquired if he chose to step away. He had written, “Not my choice.”
This decision follows a previous shift during season 34. For the first time, Sasha served as the show’s social media correspondent rather than a competing pro.
Sasha joined the cast in 2012 and was a member of the dance troupe for seasons 14-16. He was promoted to a professional partner in 2013 for season 17, where he was paired with Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi. Sasha moved back to the troupe for several seasons before returning as a main pro in Season 22.
Over the years, Sasha has been partnered with Kim Fields, Terra Jolé, Simone Biles, Tonya Harding, Selma Blair, Ally Brooke, Alyson Hannigan, and more.
Sasha was previously married to fellow DWTS professional dancer Emma Slater. The pair wed in 2018 before officially divorcing in 2024. During Season 33, Sasha struck up a brief romance with his partner, former Bachelorette star Jenn Tran. Earlier this year, Sasha was briefly linked to actress Janel Parrish, though the two split after three months of dating.
