Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Eileen Davidson learned how far people will go to be famous when filming reality TV, despite her decades of acting on soap operas with actors looking for mainstream recognition.
The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives actress told Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart about her experience on RHOBH during an interview on CBS‘s Soapy.
Lessons learned while filming RHOBH:
According to Eileen, “I learned a long time ago not to say ‘Never,’ but I don’t see” a return to reality TV. “They asked me to come back for a few [scenes] last year, but the money wasn’t worth the emotional thing … for me. I’m not cut out for it necessarily.”
“I learned so many things about myself and so many things about human nature.” Specifically, Eileen learned “What people will do to be famous. I’ve been doing this since I was 20. But, WOW. It’s shocking.”
Finding fame “matters a lot” to people. “I was always asking the producer, ‘Would they really do something like that because they want to be relevant? I couldn’t fathom that. I’m not going into details, but it was interesting.”
“But, again, if it works for you – and it works for a lot of them – and they’ve made amazing lives out of it, so how do you judge it? It’s a very personal thing.”
“I wouldn’t tell anyone NOT to do it. Other people I know have been asked to do it, so I would never tell you not to do it, never. But you’ve got to figure it out as you go.”
