Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty fame died at age 79 amid his battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Korie Robertson, Phil’s daughter-in-law, shared her family’s sad news on Facebook.
RIP, Phil:
Korie wrote, “We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord.”
“He reminded us often of the words of Paul. ‘You do not grieve like those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.’โ
She shared her gratitude for the support their family received during this difficult time. “Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life saved by grace, his bold faith, and by his desire to tell everyone who would listen the Good News of Jesus.”
“We are grateful for his life on earth and will continue the legacy of love for God and love for others until we see him again.”
Phil’s family shared plans for a public ceremony to honor his legacy. “We know so many of you love him and have been impacted by his life. Weโre having a private service for now, but weโll share details soon about a public celebration of his life. – The Robertson Family, 1 Corinthians 2”
Phil’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis:
Jase Robertson shared that his father had been diagnosed with Alzheimerโs on his podcast.
โAccording to the doctors, theyโre sure that he has some sort of blood disease thatโs causing all kinds of problems. Itโs accelerated and itโs causing problems with his entire body.โ
The diagnosis was difficult for his father, both mentally and physically. โHeโs just not doing well. Heโs really struggling.โ
