Jersey Shore star Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino is contemplating a run for Governor of New Jersey.
ICYMI, Mike’s fellow MTV reality TV personality, Spencer Pratt, is running for mayor of Los Angeles. He’s gotten the support of at least two of their former MTV reality colleagues, Brody Jenner and Kristin Cavallari.
Mike’s journey:
Mike has been on the up-and-up since his legal issues with Uncle Sam. The Situation spent eight months in federal prison for tax evasion after failing to pay $8.9 million in taxes. He was released after serving eight months in 2019.
He served his sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, New York, alongside Michael Cohen.
For now, Mike is focused on his rehabilitation center, Archangel Centers, to help others get sober. “I’d like to save lives for the next three to five years, with Archangel Centers,” The Situation told local New Jersey news outlet News 12.
Mike has been sober since December 24, 2015 after battling a severe prescription painkiller and opioid addiction for years. He completed treatment and officially began his sustained recovery journey that Christmas Eve.
“I’d like to have an Archangels center in every 50 states [sic], and after that, you know, I will introduce everybody to Governor Situation,” the reality TV star added, seemingly announcing his plans to run for office sometime in the future.

When asked if he would enter the gubernatorial arena as a Republican or a Democrat, Mike remained coy. “I can’t announce it yet, but, uh, I think the, uh, residents of New Jersey would like no property tax,” he responded.
Mike reflected on how he got here. “If you had told me 10 years ago that the U.S. government would send me to prison, strip me of my passport and voting rights, and hit me with millions in penalties, I would have thought it was game over. But here I am — living proof that the comeback is always greater than the setback.”
He continued, “Against all odds, I turned my life around. Today, I’m happily married with three amazing kids, a published author, nine years sober, and about to launch my own treatment centers, The Archangel Centers. What once seemed impossible is now my reality.”
