Brody Jenner is supporting his fellow The Hills costar’s run for mayor of Los Angeles.
On Jan. 8, just one day after Spencer Pratt announced his candidacy, Brody took to Instagram to vouch for his longtime friend.
“Spencer Pratt graduated from USC with a bachelor’s degree in political science,” Brody began.
“He’s genuinely one of the smartest people I’ve ever met. He didn’t ‘end up’ in reality TV — he chose it because he loved it and understood the opportunity.”
Brody also spoke to how just because Spencer was a reality star doesn’t mean he isn’t capable of the job or hard work.
He noted that “shooting schedules are long, intense, and often more demanding than many of the traditional jobs people love to look down on.”
Ultimately, Spencer has Brody’s vote, and he looks forward to the change he might bring to the city.
“At the very least, he has the backbone to stand up to career politicians who’ve done little to actually move Los Angeles forward,” Brody said.
ICYMI: Since he and Heidi Montag lost their family home in the 2025 LA wildfires, Spencer has used his platform to blast local elected officials.
He has particularly blamed Mayor Bass and Governor Newsom for inadequate wildfire prevention and response, calling it “gross criminal negligence” on social media and at rallies.
