Kyle Cooke is defending himself after photos of him and his estranged wife, Amanda Batula, appearing to be in good spirits together started making the rounds online.
The In the City star addressed the photos first thing Saturday morning — just hours after filming the reunion for the Summer House spinoff.
“We all decided to go get a drink together, kinda like group therapy,” Kyle said on June 13.
And apparently, the In the City reunion puts Amanda right in the hot seat.
“She opened up a lot more than she did on Summer House,” Kyle teased, adding that fans have a lot to look forward to — not just at the reunion, but throughout the season.
As for the photos, Kyle explained that he and Amanda were riding in the elevator together and joking about the possibility of being photographed leaving at the same time.
“Boom, that’s exactly what happened,” Kyle continued.
“That caused us to laugh even harder. That’s all there was to it, guys.”

Amanda was in attendance, which naturally raised eyebrows given viewers have spent the past three weeks watching her — and West Wilson — sidestep accountability and empathy throughout the Summer House reunion.
People also published photos of Kyle and Amanda leaving together.
However, seeing the former couple laughing together seems opposite the narrative Kyle has been presenting.
That said, his explanation does make sense.
