Kristin Cavallari is spilling some vintage MTV tea.
On the Tuesday, Jan. 6 episode of her podcast, the Laguna Beach alum revealed a BTS family showdown that nearly derailed her reality TV career.
Kristin shared that while applying for the show, she openly dragged her then-stepmother, Nicole King, in her casting packet.
“I talked about my stepmom a lot in my packet, and I talked about how I didn’t like her. I said she was closer to my age than my dad’s — which, okay, hi, I can’t judge that now — but at the time, I judged it,” Kristin admitted.
“And I really talked about how much I disliked her.”
Things went left when Nicole got her hands on the application.
“I remember Nicole literally grabbing my packet out of my hands while I was filling it out,” Kristin claimed.
“She read it, saw what I said about her, and she was p—–. Rightfully so. I get it.”
According to Kristin, that moment sparked her stepmom’s hatred of MTV.
“She always had this complete disdain for the network because of that.”
The tension came to a head when Kristen was asked to return for season two.
“She told my dad that if I did the second season, she was gonna move out,” Kristin said.
“And my dad said, ‘Then get the f— out.’”
Kristin added that the argument turned ugly and that she witnessed a “really nasty fight” between the two.
As a result, she believes her stepmom ultimately resented her for it.
