The Golden Life stars Kelly Bensimon and Sonja Morgan opened up about their pasts with Patricia Altshul‘s son, Whitney Sudler-Smith.
Sonja and Kelly spilled the tea with SiriusXM about their former situationships with the Southern Charm personality/executive producer.
Kelly revealed that she and Whitney had a romantic connection years ago. However, the former Real Housewives of New York City star made it clear that their relationship never quite reached the commitment stage. “I did date Whitney for a little bit. That was so long ago. We were dating-ish.”
According to Kelly, Whitney’s mother, Patricia Altschul, was apparently hoping their romance would lead to something more permanent. “His mom really wanted us to get married.”
“I really love Whitney, but he’s just not really a commitment type of person.”
Kelly wasn’t the only The Golden Life star with a story about Whitney. Sonja also shared that she went out once with the Southern Charm creator. “I had a dinner with Whitney at The Polo Lounge. That didn’t go beyond The Polo Lounge,” Sonja clarified.
Sonja agreed with Kelly’s assessment that Whitney wasn’t exactly the commitment type. She also revealed that she had been spending time with Patricia.
The conversation took another turn when Whitney’s sexuality came up. According to Sonja, whenever someone asks Patricia whether Whitney is gay, Patricia responds, “Ask Sonja if he’s gay.”
Sonja was quick to clarify that nothing physical happened between her and Whitney, though she acknowledged there was a little more to their connection than one dinner. “I didn’t hook up, we did date-ish, though,” she explained.
