Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Kathy Wakile clarified claims Melissa Gorga made about her last year.
During an interview with Page Six, Kathy Wakile gave her side of the story that Melissa told on Jeff Lewis Live last July.
Melissa was all talk about reuniting with Kathy:
Kathy explained what really went down.
Before Melissa talked to Jeff Lewis last year, she saw Kathy at an event … and didn’t approach her. โI didnโt see them. But, they saw me and didnโt say hello,” explained Kathy.
โThe next day, Melissa texts me, which was very nice. She reached out and said how sad it was that we were at the same event, and we walked by each other and didnโt say hello.โ
Kathy thought to herself, โShame on [Joe Gorga, her first cousin] if he saw me and didnโt come up to me.โ
Timeline๐:
Melissa texted Kathy, โI think that there are things we should talk about. Would you be open?โ Kathy agreed to talk to her estranged cousin-in-law.
โSo we met for lunch. [Then,] she went on Jeff Lewis and acted” like Jeff suggesting the cousins meet up was a fresh thought. “Oh, thatโs a good idea, Jeff,” Melissa said, “when we had already had our lunch,โ Kathy claimed.
Melissa was โmaking it seem like it was Jeffโs ideaโ to meet up, but they โhad already metโ and โcleared the air.โ
The vibe:
Though Kathy described the encounter as โfineโ, she doesnโt โthink it went as [Melissa] wouldโve liked it to go.โ Kathy did note, however, that there wasnโt โanything harsh said. [She just] reminded her of the things that went down.โ
Melissa may need Kathy, but Kathy doesn’t need Melissa:
Kathy thinks Melissa could have reached out for selfish purposes. “I think that couldโve been a really good part of it. Couldโve been, like, a potential storyline, but Iโm not a storyline. I am my own life.โ
Regarding the lot purchase and house building, Kathy pointed out that she and Rich had already been living in the neighborhood for a decade. โSo if anything,โ she argued, โthey moved to our neighborhood.โ
