After Kathy Hilton and the powers that be at West Hollywood’s Pride Festival decided not to have Kathy be the parade’s Grand Marshall, her sister, Kyle Richards, and ‘friend of’ the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast, Jennifer Tilly, showed support for Kathy.
“My sister Kathy has always been a supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community and will continue to be,” began Kyle. “As far as ‘MAGA ties,’ just because you are acquainted with or have associated in the past or present, doesn’t mean you share their political views.”
“The WeHo Pride Parade is a happy, celebratory day. I respect my sister’s decision for not wanting to be a distraction on a day that belongs to the LGBTQIA+ community. Happy Pride! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜”
Jennifer Tilly posted, “I stand with Kathy. Nobody works harder and more tirelessly to give back to the community than Kathy Hilton. She has repeatedly opened her home, her heart, and her pocketbook for LGBTQIA+ causes.”
“I’ve attended GLAAD award parties at her house, her annual Children’s Hospital event at The Abbey, and she has been a longtime supporter of Project Angel Food. Kathy is an ally and an advocate.”
TMZ caught up with Kathy, who commented on stepping back as Grand Marshal of 2026’s Pride Parade in West Hollywood. She reasoned, “I’ve been involved with the community for a long, long time. When people make noise, what can you do?”
Kathy recalled her early work with Dr. Mathilde Krim and Elizabeth Taylor in 1983 in the name of the community. Alas, Kathy is sending love from afar. “I want them to have the best day. They have my support.”
