Dancing With the Stars season 34 finalist Dylan Efron clarified what really went down with his brother, Zac Efron, in one of his viral moments from the audience.
Dylan was a guest on the Smith Sisters Live podcast and broke down his brother’s reaction to his scores on Prince Night.
The Greatest Showmen:
“I actually did speak to Zac about this, because I was just saying it as I thought it was funny,” began Dylan. “But then Zac was like, ‘Oh no.’ He’s like, ‘They’re misinterpreting it.’”
Zac felt his brother nailed the performance, so he was confused that he didn’t get higher scores. “I can’t remember what he was saying, but I think he said that he thought it was a really good dance.”
The High School Musical actor wondered, “Is that the highest score they would give?” ICYMI, Dylan and his pro-partner, Daniella Karagach, scored 27 points out of a possible 30 for a tango set to Prince’s 1983 hit ‘I Would Die 4 U.’
Zac then asked Mama Efron a question, which users on social media speculated as being, “Are those good scores?” Dylan remained modest as he suggested Zac felt scores “should have been higher, or something like that.”
“But that Zac was, yeah, I don’t know. It was funny regardless. But Zac got defensive,” Dylan said. He’s like, ‘No, they misinterpreted what I meant.’”
This wasn’t the first time Zac publicly supported Dylan:
Ahead of Dylan’s stint on season 3 of The Traitors US, Zac boasted about his brother. “I think Dylan’s going to win.”
“I hope he does, because he’s so good at games. He always has been since we were kids. He’s like the game master.”
“If anyone can do this it’s him.” Zac concluded, “I’m rooting for him.”
Zac knows his brother all too well!
