Model/Love Thy Nader star, Brooks Nader, is adding actress to her resume as she prepares for her role on Baywatch … and she’s looking to the greats, Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra, for inspo!
In an interview with PEOPLE, Brooks revealed she’s a fan of the original series and has been preparing for her new role her whole life.
Brooks’ grew up with Baywatch:
The Hulu reality TV star was fully prepared for her turn as a lifeguard after looking up to Pam and Carmen.
Brooks has always looked up to original Baywatch cast, so she’s been practicing her slow-mo run since she was a kid. “I’ve been doing this since I was like two years old. I’ve been ready for this.” Confident, Brooks continued, “I got this. I’ve been watching the videos of Pam and Carmen Electra. I’m ready for this.”
“I’ve been doing this in my mirror since I was like 10 years old. You know what I mean? So you’ll like my run.” Brooks joked, “I only run in slow-mo. I don’t run in normal motion anymore. That’s my new personality, it’s running in slow-mo.”
Described as an “out-of-body experience,” Brooks detailed putting on the iconic red bathing suit for the first time. “Even the wardrobe people” were crying. “They were like, ‘This is so big and this is so exciting.'”
“I feel like the energy with the cast and the crew and everybody involved is just spectacular. Everyone’s so excited to see it all come to life. I think everyone’s going to love the show. Everyone’s working really hard, so it’s exciting.”
What we know about the new Baywatch:
The 12-episode reboot of Baywatch is slated to premiere either later this year or early next year, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Alongside Brooks, the cast includes Livvy Dunne, Shay Mitchell, Noah Beck, Stephen Amell and more.
Brooks is playing Selene, described as “the sharp-tongued Captain of the Zuma beach lifeguards.”
“While [Selene] is excellent at her job, she and Baywatch Captain Hobie Buchannon have a very different approach to saving lives that is a constant source of friction,” her character’s bio reads.
“Never on good terms, their relationship only goes downhill after Hobie brings his daughter, Charlie, onto his team. It becomes clear that their rivalry goes much deeper than lifeguarding.”
