Ashley Hollis took to Instagram to post the final text message she sent to her Big Brother competitor, Mickey Lee, who recently passed away.
The herstory:
After the women appeared on BB together, Mickey Lee said she felt she was the only “traditional black woman” on the show. “I do believe that Ashley is African American as well.”
“But, we do come from different backgrounds. When I say traditional Black girl, I mean the ones that people always stereotype.”
Later, Mickey clarified by saying “traditional” was the wrong word. Instead, she described Ashley as the most “stereotypical” Black woman in the house.
Ashley’s last text to Mickie Lee:
The BB winner penned her last text to Mickey on 12/7/2025 at 10:21 pm.
“Hi, Micky [sp]. It’s Ashley. I wanted to reach out to you!”
“I didn’t really get to see you this weekend plussssss I feel like a lot of people [redacted … but, like, actually redacted – I tried cutting and pasting it into a note, and it was still unable to be decoded (lol)] I didn’t really wanna approach it in public with fans around and stuff! But I wanted to reach out because I honestly don’t like the way things have transpired between us.”
“I really care about you. I don’t want beef with you, and I don’t want the two black girls to be pitted against each other.” Ashley added, “I don’t like that. So, I wanted to be the bigger person and reach out to squash the beef.”
The aftermath of the post:
Ashley caught heat for posting her message to the late Mickey Lee. People accused her of trying to save face now that Mickey’s passed. So, she deleted the post on Instagram.
She did, however, write on the app that shall not be named, that she only shared it because people called her out for posting a tribute to Mickey earlier in the day, thinking there was still weirdness between the women.
